This is a forged blade, curved so that you can cut with a rocking action. We have used a stack of different tools to cut pizza over the years and the Mezzaluna is easily the best, as you can put a lot of weight behind it rather than relying on a sharp edge.
The handles are made from a dark, dense Australian hardwood. This timber does not burn easily, so it’s the ideal material for oven tool handles. The Mezzaluna comes with a small hardwood timber block to rest it in.
